Support Labs is all about helping your organization stay on top of the operations, so you can focus on your mission. Because all clients have unique needs and varied staff skill sets, plus tight NPO budgets, I believe that one-size-does-not-fit-all. I customize your support based on your needs, timelines, and capabilities.
History
I founded Support Labs after years of working in classrooms and for great nonprofits and doing volunteer administration for projects around the Bay Area. I started consulting because not everyone likes the organizing of an organization, nor does everyone have time to focus on the gears and cranks, and I realized I could be helpful – which is a good thing to be.
I lived in the Bay Area for more than 20 years, and now call Vancouver, WA home. After teaching in the Oakland Public Schools for 7 years, and running numerous informal educational programs in the Bay Area (camps, youth groups, and after-school programs mainly), I began focusing more on Nonprofit Program Management, specifically after working at a Nature Center where families were registering for camp with paper and pencil. That led to thinking about how to help organizations function more smoothly and how to streamline organizational systems, especially of the smaller nonprofits. Directly before starting Support Labs, I was the Business Manager at a small Educational Farm which was built from the ground up (business-wise) using the Salesforce platform and the Nonprofit Starter Pack (now Success Pack).
I have a Masters in Education from Mills College and I consider teaching a major component of Support Labs. Making complex ideas simple and accessible is one way I support my clients. Also, understanding how people learn, and how I can make learning about Salesforce palatable.
I work with a great community: Developers, website builders, graphic designers, WordPress designers, Certified Salesforce Developers, Adobe Certified Teachers, and other Technology Gurus.
